§ 62-175. Roofs.

  • The applicant must submit plans for a proposed roof to be constructed as part of an existing or proposed dock to the building department for approval. The following conditions must be met:

    (1)

    The plans shall indicate that the height of the roof shall not exceed the finished grade of the upland riparian property to which the dock is appurtenant; however, in no event shall the height of the roof exceed 15 feet measured from the terminal platform of the dock to which the roof is appurtenant.

    (2)

    The plans shall be engineered so that the roof will be constructed of materials and in a manner that will, in all probability, withstand winds of 140 miles per hour as specified by the Florida Building Code.
