§ 62-131. Purpose of division.

The purpose of this division is to promote the public health, safety, and welfare of the town; to ensure the safety of persons and property in the event of severe weather; to protect the natural aquatic habitat and aesthetic value in and of the waters over which docks are constructed; and to ensure that docks do not unreasonably obstruct or impair the riparian rights of adjacent upland riparian property owners, or the navigational rights and safety of boats within the waters surrounding the town.
